Vancouver, August 27, 2023- The grand opening of the 11th World Youth Live Painting Competition, jointly organized by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Youth Live Painting Competition Organizing Committee, Canada Youth Arts Development Foundation, and Canada Shandong Business Association, was held at the Richmond Olympic Oval in the Greater Vancouver. Dignitaries from various fields including politics, business, culture, arts, and technology attended the opening ceremony, witnessing this magnificent international competition of youth painting.

The competition, themed âFriendship, Environmental Conservation, Dreams,â successfully attracted teenage artists from over 50 countries and regions. Renowned experts and prominent artists from the global painting art community formed the judging panel, evaluating submissions based on theme, creativity, color, composition, and technique. The competition yielded first, second, and third prizes, alongside outstanding awards such as the best color, best technique, best composition, and best creativity awards.
The organizing committee received over 300 submissions, showcasing the diverse creativity of teenagers worldwide. The selection process, guided by principles of fairness, justice, and transparency, culminated in a celebration of the most exceptional artistic talents. The awards ceremony, a grand event attended by guests, artists, and audiences from different corners of the globe, marked the pinnacle of this rare art extravaganza.
Since its inception in 2012, the World Cup Youth On-Site Painting Competition has attracted tens of thousands of teenagers from over 50 countries, including China, Canada, France, and the United States. The event has established collaborations with more than 100 international organizations, garnering significant attention and robust support from the media, art institutions, and parents globally.
For over a decade, the competition has remained steadfast in its commitment to public welfare. It has cumulatively donated over 1,000 tent schools to the United Nations Childrenâs Fund (UNICEF), assisting more than 40,000 children who were displaced due to poverty, conflicts, disasters, and other reasons in returning to the classroom.
Art serves as the bridge connecting the world, and the creativity and imagination of teenagers inject limitless possibilities into our future. Through organizing such competitions and award ceremonies, we aim to inspire more young individuals to engage in artistic creation, fostering their artistic cultivation and aesthetic abilities. By providing a platform for children from various countries to connect through painting and enhancing mutual understanding, the boundaries of art are broadened! Let us use the power of art to convey the values of beauty, friendship, and creativity.
