The 12th Youth World Cup Live Painting Competition, officially supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund for the first time, was hosted by the Organizing Committee of the Youth World Cup Live Painting Competition and co – organized by the Canada Youth Arts Development Foundation and the Canada Shandong Chinese Business Association. It grandly opened at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Canada.
The successful holding of each competition is inseparable from the high attention and support of the United Nations Children’s Fund, the Governor General of Canada, the Prime Minister of Canada, the three – level governments of Canada, the Consulate – General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver, consulates of various countries, and global media, as well as the strong support of sponsors. It is with the support and generous contributions from all sides that a stage is provided for teenagers to showcase their talents and a path to success is paved for their dreams.
At the competition site, hundreds of children from different countries and ethnic groups unleashed the fountains of their artistic inspiration on the drawing paper and let their innocent imaginations soar. Under the competition’s painting theme of “Friendship, Environmental Protection, Dreams”, both creative geniuses passionate about art and beginners who have just stepped into the art field found their own stage here.
At the award – giving ceremony, the competition presented the “Outstanding Young Leader Award” and the “Outstanding Juvenile Leader Award” to the contestants who donated “School- in- a – Box” to the United Nations Children’s Fund and made outstanding contributions to the competition. The “Outstanding Young Love Award” and the “Outstanding Juvenile Love Award” were given to teenagers who actively showed love and had great compassion. The “Outstanding Volunteer Award” was awarded to excellent volunteers who worked silently and selflessly. The “Best Organization Award” was presented to the unit that performed best in the competition organization.
In order to better encourage and support teenagers’ artistic creations, a public -welfare auction of excellent works was held during the award-giving ceremony. Contestants whose works were successfully auctioned received an auction donation certificate signed by the special envoy of the United Nations Children’s Fund and the chairman of the competition organizing committee, as well as a group photo. All the proceeds from the auction were donated to the United Nations Children’s Fund to support the global children’s cause and bring warmth and hope to children in need.
